Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

SA Business Funds (“we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, process, and protect your data in strict accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, No 4 of 2013 (POPIA) of South Africa.

1. Information We Collect

To provide our financial tools and funding matchmaking services, we may collect:

  • Identity Data: First name, last name, and contact details.
  • Company Data: CIPC registration details, B-BBEE status, and company size.
  • Financial Data: Average turnover, trading history, and cash flow metrics. This data may be provided manually or via authorized integrations (e.g., Open Banking connections or accounting software APIs).
  • Document Data: Bank statements or management accounts uploaded voluntarily by you for our AI evaluation tools.

2. How We Use Artificial Intelligence (AI)

We utilize advanced, secure Artificial Intelligence to process financial documents (such as PDF bank statements) for the sole purpose of calculating average turnover and identifying funding eligibility. We do not use your financial data to train public AI models. Data parsed by our AI is temporarily held in secure memory to generate your pre-qualification score and is not stored permanently without your explicit consent.

3. Sharing Your Data with Funding Partners

We operate as a funding matchmaking platform. We will never share your personal or financial data with our lending partners (such as Lulalend, Bridgement, or others) without your explicit, affirmative action (e.g., clicking “Claim Referral” or “Apply Now”).

4. Data Security & Storage

We implement bank-grade security measures, including AES-256 encryption in transit and at rest. We limit access to your personal data to those employees and partners who have a strict business need to know. If you utilize our Open Banking features, we only ever receive read-only access.

5. Your POPIA Rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, request corrections, or request the deletion of your data entirely. To exercise these rights, please contact our Information Officer via our Contact page.
